If you have the Size in inches/ centimetres

You need to allow up to 3 inches / 7.5 cms border around a standard size design
Add 6 inches/ 15 cms to the given design size.
e.g.
Design size= 12" x 8" -> fabric size = 18" x 14"
Design size= 60cms x 40 cms -> fabric size =75cms x 55cms.

For card size or smaller designs a 1 inch / 2.5cms border is sufficient.
Add 2 inches / 5 cms to the given design size.

e.g.
Design size = 2" x 3.5" -> fabric size = 4" x 5.5"
Design size = 5cms x 7.5cms -> fabric size = 10cms x 12.5cms.
